About Us

Our Oceans Matter was founded in Singapore in 2025 as a marine education and reef-restoration initiative built on one simple idea: scuba diving can be more than a recreational activity. It can be a way to learn, contribute, and support ocean conservation.

Denise was a fantastic teacher, who was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about marine conservation. She gave us a fascinating overview of the major threats facing our oceans and brought the subject to life by drawing on her own experience and expertise from her time at Tropical Marine Science Institute, NUS. She was happy to answer all sorts of questions, which made the session feel very engaging and personal.
